JACK RUBY PRESENTS

On June 25th, the Banana Stand's epic summer continues as DEATH SONGS and JACK RUBY PRESENTS arrive to record before a live audience. It promises to be a fantastic show, and you should be here: RSVP on Facebook.

If you're coming out, don't be late: this event will start promptly at 9:00pm. Doors open at 8:30pm. Don't be late, and bring your friends!

About Death Songs: Death Songs is the new project from Nick Delffs (The Shaky Hands). If you don't know of Delffs, do yourself a favor and check out Death Songs on MySpace and grab up any of the full-length albums from The Shaky Hands (Lunglight and their self-titled album are favorites of mine). Delffs has produced an insane amount of great music over the past several years, and, with Death Songs, promises to continue to do so.

About Jack Ruby Presents: I'm ashamed to say that Jack Ruby Presents just came on our radar. I don't know how we'd missed them before, they've been doing great work around Portland and the northwest for several years. Big town. I can't speak nearly as eloquently about them as Gazette Times Entertainer's Cory Frye, who said of the band:

Jack Ruby Presents' "Over Wires and White Plains" is a record fraught with specters and spirits of other breeds, mostly the ones you tip back in attempts to forget. It’s evocative of an America both contemporary and archaic, postcards from a time when a thirsty earth found no bounty and the subjects of murder ballads were still at large.
