About Curious Hands:
Check them out on their MySpace page. Or trust the professional words of Willamette Week Music Editor Amy McCullough:
"Local trio Curious Hands is a filthy pop beast that ranges from noisy, somewhat grating punk stylings to sweet, high energy power pop. Guitarists/singers Jack Tuftee and Tyler Riggs and drummer Nick LaRue take all things catchy and turn ‘em up a notch. Nah nah nahs are laid over crunchy guitars, power riffs mingle with a clickety-clackety ride cymbal and classic fills, and clever lyrics are delivered with just enough vocal strain to make Curious Hands tunes hurt real good."
How It Went Down:
Good crowd and great, high energy music. Not much more you ask for from a early evening show. Well, maybe beer . . . So we bent our own rules and let the booze flow for the respectful guests that came too hear the joyously harsh sounds. The Curious Hands came in a laid down a fast paced set like pros, giving the night a perfect kick start. Punk, pop, garage, whatever you call it — it was done here and it was done well.
